Middle School A/C Update

South Newton families, we are currently experiencing some central air issues in parts of the middle school - specifically the 6th grade wing and the office. We understand that the warmer temperatures can be uncomfortable, and we appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as we work through the issue. We have made several accommodations:

All classes for all grades are taking place in rooms with working A/C.  No classes are being held in rooms without A/C.  Additionally, 6th-grade students will be permitted and encouraged to carry backpacks into which they can put all items needed for class, minimizing the need to return to their lockers, one of the areas that is excessively warm.  

Please ensure students come to school dressed appropriately for warmer temperatures while adhering to the school dress code.

As always, students are permitted to carry water bottles during class to help them stay hydrated.  They may refill them throughout the day at one of our many bottle-filling stations.
